“Hybrid trolleybuses can revolutionise public transport” – Bartek Kras , the Vice-President of Impact Clean Power Technology S.A., said in the interview with Newseria. Bartek is working on the TrolBaSi system, a hybrid, new generation trolleybus. Apart from a traditional pantograph powered from the grid, it is also equipeed with batteries. In Europe and beyond, we note a renaissance of trolleybuses that were very popular in the past. Currently, only 3 Polish cities have a trolleybus network. Maintenance of such network is complex, costly and often disturbs public transport areas, in particular where the traction is placed in inconvenient parts of the city. In addition, constructing the network in new districts can be challenging. Having carefully considered these advantages and disadvantages, we have partnered with Solaris to design a trolleybus provided with an accessible battery.
